Darliin Khahaifa TS#8

Date/Time: 4/2/18 3:00 P.M.- 4:00 P.M.
Location: CIES
Topic/Skill: Prepositions of time and place
Feedback provided to tutee: I advised Mao Mao to assess how specific the time or place is to help him decide which preposition to use. I told him to use in with more general time expressions such as months, years, and centuries. On should be used for more specific times, such as dates. Finally, I explained that at is used when discussing specific times like 6 o’clock. I also showed him that the same rules apply when describing places, using in for the least specific places and at for the most specific places.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I used pictures to show the different uses for the prepositions. I found that pictures helped to illustrate the points in a more memorable way.
