Colleen TS 7- Maria

Today Maria and I met at the public library.  We worked on her speaking.  She told me the story of 'Call of the Wild' using the chapter headings as an outline.  This was a free speaking activity where she just kept on talking for as long as she could.  She showed me her end of session marks from CIES and it showed that she needs to improve/practice speaking and listening, both productive and receptive skills.  Our second activity for the session was reading from some youth books that I recommended for her, 'The 'Magic Treehouse'.  I had her read the first chapter and she identified 15 words that she was unfamiliar with.  She will record these words in her personal glossary, find their definitions and write a sentence for each.  She has begun the process of getting a library card and will read the first three book by Thursday when we meet for our final session.
