Tomas Cordero TS16 PJ
Today was my last tutoring session with PJ :( Since I am back home for the summer, we tutored through Skype. He sent me a picture of his homework for last session, and I corrected it. He demonstrated a clear understanding of the new words, and had good sentence structure. Much better than when we began. After that we went over 15 new words, and I made him write sentences with each of them for about 10 minutes. Overall, PJ improved a lot in his width and breadth of vocabulary.

Today I went over PJ's house, and tutored him. I proofread his narrative he was assigned and then showed him where his mistakes were, and how to correct them. Once he finished with that, I had him write another short essay for about 20 minutes. I told him I was focusing on length of the paper. When he was finished, we went over and picked out some word he can change for more complex ones. For homework I assigned another short prompt and made him use the new vocabulary we have learned.
Tomas Cordero TS14 Dojun
Today I tutored Dojun once again. We went over his assigned homework, and then began a quiz with the words he learned. He really good at understanding new vocabulary, and was able to grasp the words with ease. I then taught him a few slang phrases and continued working on expanding his productive vocabulary through casual conversation about his week.

Today I met once again with Dojun to continue our learning. We went over the words by completing a fill in the blank worksheet I found online. After, we continued looking at new idioms and more vocabulary. For homework I assigned him another fill in the blank worksheet that we will correct next time we meet.
Tomas Cordero TS12 Dojun
Today I met up with Dojun for our second session over Skype. We began diving into the complex world of English idioms. I found a list online and began to go through them with him. He was most curious on improving his everyday casual conversation, so I began teaching him some useful phrases and words I frequently used. For homework I assigned a list of words to know for next session.
Tomas Cordero TS11 Dojun
Today I logged on to Skype to begin my sessions with Dojun. He was happy to see me, and we began to get to know each other. He told me he works at an airline company and enjoys playing billiards. He also goes to the movies with his friends often. We then discussed his English language learning goals for our upcoming sessions.

Today I met up with PJ to continue our tutoring sessions. We began by going over a new set of words and trying them in context. For this exercise I made a quick fill in the blank worksheet and had him complete it. After, I gave him a short narrative prompt, making him use the words he just learned. He has been slowly improving, and his vocabulary usage is expanding with every session.

Today I met with PJ for his tutoring session. We went over the new words he learned from the article, and I made him write some sentences with them to check his understanding. Once he finished, I made him write a paragraph trying to incorporate the new words. I then went on to show him the different breadth of the words, and provided some examples.

Today I went to P.J.'s house to tutor him. I proofread his essay I assigned him for homework, and we went through correcting each error. After, I selected another prompt and had him write for 20 minutes. I noticed he was improving his vocabulary and was very proud of him. For homework I made him read a short article containing new words we will use next time.
Tomas Cordero TS7 Rashed
Today I met Rashed at the CIES lounge for our last session. We worked on more essay planning and using proper grammar and punctuation. I then had him write a paragraph and proofread it so he can improve his productive vocabulary. We then talked for a bit and said goodbye, as he was leaving for Gainesville to visit his older brother.
Tomas Cordero CP6 Hanqing
Today Hanqing invited me to his apartment. He prepared a delicious dinner with his friends. I was nervous to speak Chinese, but eventually started to try some phrases out. We ate, laughed, and got to know each other better. I was happy for Hanqing as he passed the TOEFL exam, and was accepted to his masters program at FSU.

Christian Ishak TS16
For our 16th session, Do Jun and I talked about friendship. He told me it's difficult in South Korea to have older friends because of the formality needed when talking with elders. He considers people he likes who are older acquaintances instead of friends. I told him how my best friend is 24 and I am 21, and we discussed how it would be difficult to have that friendship if South Korean formality was encouraged. Although I have finished all 16 sessions with Do Jun, we plan to meet once a week from now on to continue helping him with his English abilities.

Rosalie Peyton CP#6
I met with Tania for my last conversation partner meeting. I had previously been tutoring her, but we kept in touch after our tutoring sessions were over. She was having a bit of a hard time during her break between classes. She is still relatively new to Tallahassee and wants to make more friends. She often gets bored. We went to the park and talked for a while. She is nervous about her next session at CIES. Her friends and her favorite teacher from her previous session are all leaving. She is happy to have something to fill her time again though.
